Showerthought: Dropped $180 on that AI headshot service from my feed and my own mom asked why I sent her a picture of someone else
So against my better judgment I paid $180 for one of those AI headshot ads that kept showing up in my feed. I uploaded 12 selfies like they asked and waited two days for the results. Six of the photos had my face but the eyes were slightly off, like a wax museum version of me. My LinkedIn photo got 3 comments from coworkers asking if it was a joke, and my mom called to ask who the guy in the photo was. I want to know if anyone actually got usable shots from one of these ads or if we all just burned money on the same thing. Smash or pass, and what did you pay?

My sister paid $60 for one of those last month and got the same wax museum eyes thing, so at least you're not alone in the bad photo club. Feels like every app now wants us to pay for a worse version of something we already had for free.
