Question about the Chevy "Like a Rock" ads from the early 90s

I had to choose a jingle for my 8th grade music project at Roosevelt Middle School in 1996, and it came down to the Chevy "Like a Rock" truck ads or the Mentos theme. I went with Bob Seger because my dad drove a Silverado and played that tape in the garage, and the class just stared at me for the full 30 seconds. Did anyone else pick a car commercial for a school thing, or was I the only one who thought a truck ad was real music?

Ha, hate to break it to you but Bob Seger wrote "Like a Rock" as a real song back in 1986, Chevy just borrowed it for the ads a few years later. So you weren't playing a jingle, you were playing actual rock music that happened to sell trucks too. The Mentos theme on the other hand was made just for the commercial, so you picked the right one.
