Changed my mind about trying teen slang after my niece's friend in Tampa corrected me
I was pretty proud of myself for picking up "rizz" and using it at a family dinner in Tampa last month, until my niece's friend Marcus looked at me and said, "Sir, that's not how you use it." Turns out I had been saying it to mean luck when it actually means charm, and he showed me three videos to prove it. Now I just ask him first before I try anything new, which means I've retired "gyat" before I ever got to say it out loud. Has anyone else gotten a slang check from someone under 15, and did you bother to keep trying after that?
