Went to a legal conference in Austin and changed my mind about NDAs

I've always pushed NDAs hard on every client project. Standard practice right? But at this conference last month a lawyer from a big agency laid out how they stopped using them for most creative work. Said it killed trust with vendors and freelancers. Even showed data on how many projects got delayed because of back and forth over wording. Now I only use them for stuff with proprietary code or secret formulas. Simple projects? Just a simple confidentiality clause. Has anyone else dropped NDAs and seen it work out?

Feels like a lot of fuss over something most people just sign and never think about tbh. Half the time nobody even reads the thing.
