inPSA: I just found out how much wood some famous pitmasters actually use per cook
Man, I feel you @the_charlie. My last brisket was so dry I had to serve it with a side of gravy just to make it chewable. I spent all that time and the thing still came out looking like a leather boot. My neighbor's dog wouldn't even eat the leftovers. It's a humbling hobby for sure.

inMy editor told me to cut my intro from 90 seconds to 15. I thought it was a terrible idea.
My old boss made me cut my podcast intro music down to five seconds. I thought it ruined the vibe, but the skip rate on the first minute dropped by half. It's tough when the data proves you wrong, but you have to listen to it.

inI was holding my clipper wrong for two years
Fighting your tools" sounds a bit dramatic for a haircut, doesn't it?

inShoutout to the guy who said to check viewability stats on my last campaign
Man that reminds me of those auto-play videos that blast sound before you even find the mute button. I was reading a recipe last night and some loud ad for a truck started roaring from my phone. Scared the cat right off the couch. Feels like the whole internet is just trying to trick you into seeing or hearing something you never asked for.

inA client told me my extractions were too aggressive and it actually made sense
Listening to the client is the whole job, really. It's easy to get caught up in what you think is best and just push for that. But they're the ones who have to live with the work, not you. The best solutions come from understanding their actual problem, not the one you imagine they have. It saves so much time and headache to just hear them out first. Getting that right makes everything else easier.
