I finally understood why my phone's voice assistant kept messing up my grocery list
I was at the coffee shop yesterday and overheard two developers talking about how most voice AIs still struggle with regional accents and background noise. One of them said, 'The model was only trained on clean studio audio, so it fails in real kitchens.' It made me realize my own assistant probably can't handle the fan noise from my stove. I'm going to try retraining it with recordings from my actual kitchen. Has anyone else tried something like this with a home assistant?

Spot the same issue with my smart lights. Tech's always built for perfect conditions that don't exist at home.

But they have to start somewhere, right?

Exactly. They test in labs, not real houses.
