My friend told me not to trust the new AI writing tool for our newsletter
She said, 'It will sound generic and you'll spend more time fixing it than writing it yourself.' I didn't listen and used it for our weekly email blast last month. The first draft was okay, but it took me over 3 hours to rewrite the whole thing to sound like our actual company voice. She was totally right, and we lost a whole afternoon. Has anyone found an AI tool that actually gets tone right for marketing stuff?

Yeah, that "more time fixing it than writing it" line really hits home. I've been there, and it's so frustrating. Still looking for one that actually gets tone right, too.

Tell me about it. I swear I spend half my time just deleting exclamation points because it sounds like a cheerleader wrote it. Maybe the real AI was the friends we made along the way, but those friends are terrible at picking the right tone.

Elizabeth's cheerleader comment is spot on, it's like they all have one default setting. I've found the tone gets worse the more specific you try to be with your instructions. You end up in a weird loop of editing prompts instead of just writing the thing yourself.
