Warning: I blew $500 on a 'self-learning' AI chatbot for my site...

It was supposed to handle customer questions but just gave weird, off-topic replies. I had to pull it after a week and go back to a basic FAQ page. Has anyone found an AI support tool that actually works without constant babysitting?

What kind of weird replies was it giving? Like, totally random stuff?

Totally random stuff" isn't quite it. The replies were weird because they were almost right, but then they'd get a basic fact wrong in a way a person wouldn't. Like it would know the topic but mix up simple details everyone knows. It feels less random and more like something that almost understands, but doesn't. That's what makes it so unsettling to me.
