Warning: I keep hearing 'just plant more trees' as a fix for everything

Okay but come on... how bad can it really be? Trees are trees, right? They're better than concrete. That Austin story sounds like a one-off mess. Most places just need more green stuff, and worrying too much about the perfect tree seems like overthinking it. People act like a few wrong plants will break the whole town's water.

Warning: I blew $500 on a 'self-learning' AI chatbot for my site...

Totally random stuff" isn't quite it. The replies were weird because they were almost right, but then they'd get a basic fact wrong in a way a person wouldn't. Like it would know the topic but mix up simple details everyone knows. It feels less random and more like something that almost understands, but doesn't. That's what makes it so unsettling to me.

I used to think a 30-year fixed was the only way to go for a rental property

But what if your buddy's ARM was the better deal for years before that spike, @fox.derek? He probably saved a ton with that lower starting rate compared to a fixed loan. Sometimes you gamble to get in the house and it just doesn't work out later.

Serious question, my foreman told me to always check the governor rope tension first on a noisy traction job.

Yeah, I was totally in the "gotta be the motor" camp for the longest time. Figured the governor rope was too simple, like it couldn't possibly cause that big of a noise. Had the same thing happen on a job last year, spent forever on bearings before I gave in and checked the rope. Slack was way off. Felt like a real idiot, but it sure taught me to listen to the old guys. That basic check saves so much headache.
