Whose job is it to catch AI hallucinations anyway, theirs or ours?
Last Tuesday I was prepping a client deck in Chicago and the AI summary said a competitor had filed for bankruptcy, turns out that was totally made up.. we almost sent it to the board... so is it on the tool maker or the user to double check every single line? Who else has had this kind of near-miss and what's your rule for when you stop trusting the output?
Used to be all on the user in my book, but a near miss like that flips the script pretty fast. The tool maker has to own the fact that they're selling confidence, not just words on a screen. Otherwise we're all just playing roulette with our deadlines and reputations.
