I finally admitted my air fryer is just a tiny convection oven and that's fine
My buddy Mike said "you paid $80 for a glorified toaster oven" and it kinda stung until I realized he was right. Does anyone else feel like the air fryer hype oversells what is basically a really fast reheating machine?

Did you ever notice how everything marketed as "game changing" is just an old thing with a new spin? My parents had a toaster oven in the 80s that did the same exact job. Air fryers are handy, sure, but we paid for the name and the hype. It's like how every new kitchen gadget gets this magical origin story. Sometimes a convection fan is just a convection fan, and that's totally okay.
