Just realized I was cooking my frozen fries wrong this whole time

I had to choose between cooking a whole bag of Ore Ida crinkle cuts at once or doing them in two smaller batches. I picked the full bag because I was hungry and in a hurry. They came out soggy in the middle, but doing a second batch with just a single layer for 12 minutes at 400 degrees was perfect. Anyone have a good trick for cooking a lot of frozen fries without them getting mushy?

Honestly that single layer trick is just a waste of time and oven space.

So you think it's a total waste, huh? What exactly are you baking that makes you so sure? Because for cookies, that single layer is the only way to get even browning and the right texture. Trying to cram two trays in just gives you a sad, uneven mess. Have you actually tested it side by side or are you just guessing?
