The day my aunt showed me her air fryer method for frozen chicken wings
I was over at my aunt's place last Thanksgiving and she pulled out this beat up air fryer from 2019. She tossed in frozen wings straight from the bag, no thawing, dusted them with baking powder and salt. She said 'trust the process' and 25 minutes later they were the crispiest wings I ever had. Still not sure if it's the baking powder or just her old machine that does the trick, has anyone else tried this method or is it just her?

The baking powder is definitely doing most of the work there... I tried it once with just salt and they came out soggy. Your aunt's method sounds solid but I think people hype up air fryers too much honestly.

@morgan.logan yeah the air fryer hype is wild, my brother got one and uses it for everything now.

WHOA hold up - you tried it with JUST salt and expected it to work? That's like baking a cake with flour and water only and wondering why it's gross haha. The baking powder is what gives that crispy airy texture because it creates bubbles in the coating. Without it you're basically just seasoning wet chicken skin and hoping for magic. I mean yeah air fryers are overhyped but they DO work better than ovens for some things, you just gotta understand the science behind it. Your poor taste buds went through a real trial by fire with that experiment lol.
