Just realized my old foreman was right about torque wrenches on the CRJ-700 gear pins
He told me three years ago to always use a click type, not a beam, on those specific pins because the access angle makes it hard to read a dial. I thought it was just his personal quirk. Last month, I had to redo a job on a plane in Denver after a beam wrench slipped and I under-torqued by about 15 foot-pounds. Cost me half a day of rework. I should have listened. Anyone else have a specific tool rule they learned the hard way?

Thought he was just picky until my beam wrench failed too.

My old lead mechanic in Tulsa swore by a digital angle gauge for prop bolts, said eyeballing it cost him a job once.
