Logbook entries: pen and paper vs. an app, and I keep going back and forth

The back and forth never ends because each one wins in a different spot. Paper is faster to just start writing, no unlocking, no app loading, no dead battery at the dock. But then you have a shelf of wet notebooks and you can't search them. What finally settled it for me was doing both on purpose: quick notes on paper while I'm out there, then a photo of the page into the app later so it's searchable. Not perfect but I stopped switching apps every month.
