Why does nobody talk about how AI image generators handle hands better now

I tried Midjourney v6 last week to make a portrait for a presentation and was ready to laugh at the messed up fingers. But every single hand came out with five fingers, all in the right spots, no weird melting. On the other hand, the background objects like coffee cups and chairs still look like they were drawn by a kid who just learned what shapes are. Is it really that much harder to train on backgrounds versus body parts, or did they just prioritize fixing the creepy hand thing because everyone complained? Has anyone else noticed this split in quality or am I just getting lucky with my prompts?

Warning: my AI "coffee cup shaped like a raccoon" came out looking like a nightmare critter

I spent all last Sunday trying to get an AI to mash up a raccoon and a coffee mug. First 20 tries just gave me a normal raccoon holding a mug, not even shaped like one. Then it suddenly made this thing with fur growing out of the handle and a tail acting as a spout. I threw my phone across the couch when I saw it. Has anyone else had an AI give them something way weirder than they asked for?

I used to think paying for QuickBooks was a waste. Now I get why my old bookkeeper kept bugging me about it.

For 2 years I tracked everything in a spreadsheet. Thought I was being smart saving that $30 a month. Then last quarter I had to manually reconcile 47 invoices for a commercial job in Austin and found 3 errors I made back in March that snowballed into a $1200 mess. My accountant showed me in 10 minutes how QuickBooks would have caught those automatically. That $30 feels cheap now. Anyone else hold out on software too long and regret it?

I finally had a perfect campsite day at Lake Tahoe... then the raccoons showed up

Last Saturday at Fallen Leaf Campground near South Lake Tahoe, everything was going great - clear skies, perfect temp, and I got my tent pitched in 12 minutes flat. Made myself some chili mac and was feeling like a pro. Then a family of raccoons came through at dusk, knocked over my entire cooler, and one of them ran off with my favorite spork. Found out my 'fireproof' drywall only rated for 30 minutes after a neighbor's shed fire spread to my fence

I was checking the code on the leftover sheets from my basement reno and the stamp said Type X but the fine print was 30-minute rating max, not the 1-hour I assumed - has anyone else caught this kind of mislabel on big box store drywall?
