Those fancy safety wire pliers I laughed at saved my knuckles
I spent 10 years twisting safety wire by hand and thought those $80 pliers were just a gimmick for new guys with too much money. Last month during a 12-hour shift on a 737 flap track, my coworker handed me his pair and I finished the job in half the time with zero bloody fingers. Has anyone else had a tool they swore was overpriced turn out to be completely worth it?

I mean, I spent a solid decade using a crescent wrench for everything before I finally bought a proper set of ratcheting wrenches. Thought they were just for mechanics with more money than sense, but now my hand doesn't cramp up halfway through a job. Guess I'm just a slow learner when it comes to saving my own knuckles.

Idk, is that really such a big deal though? I mean, I've used a crescent wrench for stuff my whole life and my hands seem fine. Maybe it's just me but I feel like people make a way bigger deal out of these tools than they need to. A crescent wrench works for like 90% of what you need it to do, and for the other 10% you can just use a socket set. I get that ratcheting wrenches are nice but it's not like your knuckles are gonna fall off without them.
