Unpopular opinion: I still torque my own wheel nuts after seeing a shop in Phoenix skip the final check
I watched a line guy at a small shop in Phoenix put a wheel on a Cessna 172 and just run the gun without using a torque wrench for the final pass. He said it was 'close enough' after the initial run-up. That's a big deal because uneven torque can cause brake issues or even a loose wheel. How many of you still do your own final torque check on wheels?

That Phoenix shop story is a real eye-opener.

Had a guy quote me $200 for a simple fence repair. I made him text me the price and a list of what he'd fix before he started. When he tried to charge $350 later, I just showed him the text. He grumbled but honored it.

Yeah, it's wild. Honestly, the best move is to get everything in writing, even for small jobs. A quick text or email confirming the price and scope saves so many headaches later.
