The lead tech in Fresno warned me about panel zones on old houses, and I ignored him for 3 jobs
Six months ago this guy named Ray, who has been pulling wire since the 80s, kept telling me to walk every window in an older home before I map the zones. I nodded and kept doing it my way, zip through the doors and call it done. Last Tuesday on a 1962 ranch out near Clovis I put two window contacts on one zone and the homeowner's cat kept tripping it at 2am. Ray laughed when I called him and said "the map never lies, but the house sure does." How do you folks handle zone maps on older builds without spending half a day walking every opening?
