I started taking notes on ep 1 and it finally made long anime click for me

I could never keep track of big casts until I started writing down every new name and one detail about them during the first episode. A character sheet with just 8 names got me through a 50 episode show with zero wiki trips. Does anyone else do this or do you just power through and hope it sticks?

Figured that was overkill until I tried it on a show with like 30 characters and suddenly everyone had a face and a name in my head. Writing down one dumb detail per person does way more than I expected. Guess my brain just needed the cheat sheet.
