Looking back at old anime forum threads is a trip

I was digging through some archived posts from a 2005 forum and saw that a single episode of Naruto took over 12 hours to download for some people. Found that stat on a Wayback Machine snapshot of an old fansub hub. Makes you appreciate how easy we have it now, huh?

Yeah, that 12 hour download stat is wild. I used to just swap fansub CDs with friends at school, way easier than trying to download anything myself lol.

Swapping CDs was easier for sure, but you missed out on the whole ritual of it. Staying up late to watch that download bar crawl felt like a real mission. That struggle made finally watching the show hit different.
