Spent $60 on a figure at a con, it was a bootleg

Picked up what looked like a perfect scale figure at Anime Expo last weekend, box art was crisp and everything. Got home and the paint was chipped, the stand didn't fit, and the face was slightly off. Anyone else get burned by con vendors who don't let you open the box first?

Bootlegs usually have that telltale plastic smell, box can be perfect.
