Took me 6 hours to fix a subtitle sync issue on one episode
Was trying to watch an old subbed release of Gundam Wing and the audio kept drifting after 10 minutes. Spent an entire evening remuxing the file with different delays until I realized my media player had a weird audio offset setting enabled by default. Has anyone else had a simple setting screw up their whole watch session?

Yeah that's brutal. 6 hours is a long time to sink into one episode, especially when it ends up being a dumb player setting. Stuff like that drives me crazy because you start second guessing everything - the file, the codec, your hardware. I've had similar issues with Kodi where some hidden audio processing option was messing with my surround sound. Usually check the simple stuff first now but it still catches me sometimes. Hope you finally got to watch the episode without problems.

Dude that's the worst kind of rabbit hole. One time I spent 2 hours messing with VLC's audio codec settings because my Bluray rip kept stuttering. Turns out there was a "Dynamic Range Compression" box checked under Audio Filters. Clicked it off and everything worked perfect. Felt like such a moron after all that.
