I found a live hamster in a dryer I was fixing last month

Got a call for a noisy dryer in a house in Springfield. When I pulled the drum out, a little brown hamster was just sitting on the blower wheel, looking at me. The owner's kid said it went missing 'a few days ago'. The hamster was fine, just a bit dusty. I had to clean out a whole nest of bedding and food from inside the cabinet before I could even check the bearings. Anyone else had an animal turn up in an appliance?

That possum story is wild. Did your buddy's company charge extra for the animal removal, or was it just part of the service call?

Remember hearing about a plumber who found a snake nest in a bathroom wall during a re-pipe job. They had to stop everything and get a wildlife guy out there, which added like two full days to the project. Homeowner was not happy about the extra bill, but what else can you do. Makes you wonder what else is living in the walls of these old houses.

My buddy who does HVAC found a full grown possum in a crawl space unit once. The thing hissed at him and he had to call animal control to get it out. He said the whole system was packed with leaves and junk for a nest. Makes a hamster look pretty easy to deal with.
