Rant: That moment I learned not to poke at a freezer drain with a screwdriver
Last Tuesday in Bellevue, I was unclogging a Frigidaire freezer drain on a service call. I got impatient and jammed a flathead in there to break up the ice, and it punched right through the drain line into the foam insulation. Had to spend an extra 45 minutes pulling the back panel and patching it with epoxy putty while the customer watched me sweat. Anybody else got a shortcut that backfired this bad?

Learned that lesson myself on a Samsung fridge years ago. Now I just use hot water in a turkey baster to melt the ice, takes a little longer but no holes to patch.

Oh man, I feel this in my bones. I once tried the hot water trick and forgot the turkey baster had a tiny crack - ended up with hot water all over my arm instead of the ice. Guess I should stick to the manual method too.

Ah man, I get that. I finally gave up and just used a blow dryer on low heat, worked way better than I expected lol.
