This week I had three calls for the same weird fridge issue in a row

Every single one was a 2018 Samsung with the ice maker overflowing and freezing the whole drawer shut. The first one took me 2 hours just to thaw it out with a heat gun. By the third house, I had the whole diagnostic and fix down to 45 minutes flat. Anyone else seeing a sudden wave of these specific models failing now?

Sounds like a pretty specific problem. Not sure it's a full blown crisis for every single owner.

Honestly, that's a classic Samsung fridge problem, but it's not just the 2018 models. I've been seeing that exact ice maker flood on Samsungs from like 2016 through 2020. The plastic housing on the unit cracks and just dumps water. Tbh, you got lucky finding three of the same thing in a row, makes the day easier once you figure out the pattern.
