Dropped $340 on a battery pole saw and I'll take it over my gas saw for most jobs
I know this is gonna get me roasted but hear me out. I picked up a Husqvarna 525i pole saw last spring for around $340 with the battery, and after a full season of using it on everything from live oak limbs over fences to dead pine tops in Lafayette, I barely touch my gas Stihl anymore. Everybody on my crew told me I was throwing money away on a toy, that it would die in a week, that a real arborist runs gas. But the thing starts every single time with one squeeze of a trigger, no pull cord fights at 6am, no mixing fuel, and I can do a whole 4 hour pruning job on two batteries. It's not replacing my big saw for removals or anything over 8 inches, I'm not saying that. But for 75 percent of the trimming work I do, the quiet saw is just faster because I'm not yanking a cord 15 times or breathing fumes all day. My climber laughed at me in April and then borrowed it in July when his saw flooded on a job in Breaux Bridge. So my question is, who else made the switch and actually stuck with it, and did you regret it after the batteries started losing charge?
