I finally got a 60-foot pine to drop exactly where I wanted with a single wedge
After three tries on other trees left me digging my saw out of the dirt, I shaved a wedge on the back side and let the hinge do the work, and it landed 4 feet off my mark in a tight backyard in Columbus, anyone else ever had a wedge save them from a sketchy drop?

Did you learn that hinge trick from a YouTube vid or just trial and error? I dropped a dead oak last fall and my wedge kept popping out till I cut the notch way deeper than I thought I needed.
