Dropped $60 on a cheap endoscope camera for cave art sites and it actually worked
I do volunteer survey work with a local archaeology group and we have a few shallow rock shelters here in east Tennessee where you can't really see the back wall without sticking your whole head in. Bought a $60 USB endoscope off Amazon mostly as a joke, and on our trip two weeks ago it let me photograph faded charcoal markings about four feet back that nobody had documented. The pictures are grainy as hell but the shapes are clearly there, and our lead archaeologist wants to come back with proper gear. Anyone else using cheap consumer cameras for site documentation, or am I about to get yelled at by a purist?
