Showerthought: I dropped $80 on a proper keyword research tool and it actually paid for itself

I was just guessing at what people were searching for for months, throwing blog posts into the void. Finally bit the bullet and got a subscription to one of those tools that shows search volume and questions people ask. The first thing I did was look up a topic I thought was big, and it had like 10 searches a month. Total dead end. But then I found a related phrase with way more volume that I'd never have thought of. Wrote a post targeting that, and it got to page one in about three weeks. It's not magic, but having real numbers instead of guesses is a game changer. Has anyone else found a specific feature in these tools that really clicked for them?

My buddy had the same thing happen with the questions feature.

Yeah @jamesfox, I was totally convinced that feature was pointless. Seeing it glitch out for so many people actually shows how it's a real problem, not just a one-off thing. Changed my whole view on it.

My cousin's phone did that weird question glitch last Tuesday, the one where it shows old replies from like 2022. She had to restart the app three times before it cleared. Felt like her phone was haunted for a minute there.
