Biggest regret of my life lol" got me, that's exactly how I felt when I got scammed on a "rare" coin on eBay a few years back. I read somewhere that Meade telescopes are notoriously hard to calibrate if they've been banged around, which probably explains your pain. Honestly, $300 for a used telescope is a gamble unless you test it first, and most people don't. Hope you can at least get your money back or flip it to someone who knows how to fix it up.

Honestly used to think any telescope for $300 was a steal no matter what, but seeing posts like this and what @the_avery said about Meades being tricky if theyre banged up totally changed my mind. Last week I almost grabbed a used one off Craigslist for a similar price, figured I could just wing it with some youtube tutorials. But now Im glad I passed, sounds like I dodged a headache with all the calibration issues people talk about. Hope you get that refund or at least sell it to someone who knows how to handle it before you lose more money on it.
