My neighbor who shoots film said my stacked moon photo looked 'too clean' and I can't stop thinking about it
She's been doing astrophotography for 9 years and shoots with an old Canon on a star tracker, and she said the craters in my 300-frame stack from Tuesday look like a computer made them. I looked at her single 2-second exposure of the same moon and honestly the grain and soft edges felt more real. Has anyone else gone back to simpler unstacked shots after getting deep into processing?
A neighbor's offhand comment about your moon shot is not really a crisis worth losing sleep over. Clean stacks and grainy single frames are just two ways of doing the same hobby, neither one is more "real" than the other. If you like the soft look better then shoot that way, but don't let one person's taste turn into a rule you have to follow.
