Our weekly astro photo chat faded after the office closed
We had this thing where everyone would bring in their latest night sky pictures on a shared drive. Our manager was cool with it and even joined in sometimes. Now with remote work, that whole routine just vanished into thin air. I still edit my shots, but posting them online isn't the same. Kind of makes you rethink what you miss about old jobs.

Set up a dedicated channel for it on your work Slack or Teams... call it something like #astro-friday. We did that and it brings back the vibe, same time each week. People just pop in when they can and encourage folks to drop their latest shots.

Always figured remote work was all upside, but losing little traditions like that shows the cost. Makes the shared drive sound way better than any social media feed.

Tbh, I don't get why people make such a fuss over this. Sure, office traditions are nice, but remote work has way more perks. Shared drives are handy for files, but calling them better than social media? That's apples and oranges. Social media is for personal stuff, not work. And those little rituals can be done virtually if we try. Plus, no commute and setting your own hours totally make up for it.
