Shoutout to the $300 light pollution filter I bought for my DSLR that did basically nothing
I shoot from my backyard in Phoenix where the sky is a washed out orange mess, and after reading forum posts I dropped $300 on a clip-in filter expecting my Milky Way shots to finally pop, but side by side with my unfiltered frames the difference was maybe 5 percent, so now I'm stuck wondering if these filters are worth it for anyone shooting inside a real city or if the whole thing is just clever marketing for suburban skyglow.
