TIL I was sanding Bondo all wrong for the last 10 years

I used to sand by hand with 80 grit until my shoulders ached. Then last month a buddy let me borrow his DA sander with a soft pad. Finished a whole quarter panel in 15 minutes flat with no waves. Has anyone else made that switch and felt stupid for not doing it sooner?

Did your buddy ever get his sander back or is it still in your garage?

Did you hear about my friend Dave who "borrowed" a pressure washer from his neighbor last summer? He kept meaning to return it, but every time he'd ask the neighbor if he needed it back, the guy would just say "keep it for now." It finally got returned eight months later when the neighbor texted that he was selling his house and needed the washer out of the garage for the open house.

Tbh this is way too common with borrowed tools. I loaned a chainsaw to my cousin back in April and it finally made its way home just before Halloween with a dead spark plug and no apology note. Ngl I'm starting to think 'borrowing' is just a slow way of giving stuff away.
