Tuesday was an absolute nightmare with a Buick LeSabre
Had this 2004 LeSabre come in for a rear bumper replacement. Simple job. But the owner had tried to fix it himself first. Used construction adhesive and drywall screws. Spent 3 hours just prying that mess off. Then realized the impact bar was bent too. Had to wait 2 days for the part to ship from a yard in Dallas. The owner kept calling asking why it wasn't done. Told him straight up - your DIY fix cost you double the labor. Has anyone else dealt with a customer who made things way worse before bringing it in?

Those drywall screws are a classic move, usually means they tried to hang a picture frame on the bumper too. Had a guy once use expanding foam on a radiator hose, took me an hour with a scraper and a heat gun to get it all off.

Honestly, @finley729 called it with the expanding foam story, that's a nightmare. But here's what I'm wondering - did this guy seriously think drywall screws would hold on a bumper? Like, was he in a rush or just that cheap? The fact that he was calling you every day while you were fixing his mess tells me he had zero clue how much extra work he caused. Ngl, customers like that always leave me wondering if they even looked up a single YouTube video before grabbing the tools.
