I torqued lug nuts to spec for 9 years before a tire guy in Reno set me straight
I always hit them with the impact and called it good, figured close enough was fine. Then a guy at a shop off Virginia Street in Reno watched me do it and asked if I wanted to buy his customer a new set of rotors. He showed me a warped rotor on a truck that came back after 4,000 miles, said it was from over-torquing with the gun. I started using a torque wrench on every wheel after that and never had a comeback for vibration again. Now I keep a 1/2 inch torque wrench right by the lift so I don't get lazy. Funny how a 30 second check saves you a 2 hour job. Any of you still running the gun and hoping for the best, or did you switch over?
