Showerthought: my welds on exhaust hangers stopped cracking once I quit rushing the cooldown
I used to have comebacks on the same three trucks every 4 to 6 months, cracked right next to the bead on the hanger. Started wrapping them in a wet rag for a slow cool instead of hitting them with air, and the last 8 jobs have all held past a year. Anybody else notice heat control matters more than wire speed on thin exhaust pipe?
