Stuck waiting 3 weeks for a simple brake controller install on my tow rig

I dropped off my truck at a shop in Phoenix for a basic brake controller install and they told me two days, but it took three full weeks because they kept ordering the wrong harness. The guy kept saying "should be here tomorrow" and I missed two hauling jobs because of it. Has anyone else dealt with shops that just can't seem to get simple let installs right?

3 weeks is brutal but I had almost the same thing happen at a shop in Tucson for a simple trailer brake install on my F250. They ordered a harness for a Ford Ranger by mistake and then argued with me that it was the right one until I showed them the parts diagram on my phone. The real kicker is they charged me for the wrong harness anyway because "it was already opened." I honestly think some of these shops just grab whatever part number comes up first in their system without double checking and then they string you along hoping you'll just give up and pay for the mistake.
