Changed my mind about needing a guide for the Sawtooth loop

I spent $450 on a guided trip last summer, thinking I needed help with the route. The guide basically just walked in front of us for five days and pointed at the map we already had. I could have saved all that cash and just gone with my friends. Has anyone else found a trail that was way easier to follow than people made it sound?

Ever think that way too? I used to, until a guide got me through a spot I would've totally messed up on my own. Makes you see the value, right?
