Showerthought: My neighbor saw my bare copper wire in the flower bed and made me rethink the whole layout
My neighbor Rob was walking his dog past my yard on Saturday and stopped to ask why my pathway lights were only buried about 2 inches deep with no conduit. He used to do low voltage work and said one good hit from a shovel or a lawn aerator will nick that insulation, and that is how you end up with a dead circuit or a shock in wet grass. I dug up all 60 feet this weekend and ran it through conduit 6 inches down instead. Has anyone else found a spot where they cut a corner and it came back to bite them later?
