Tried that cheap $20 paver base from Lowe's and it sank 2 inches in a month

I redid my patio in Phoenix back in February and used the store brand paver base to save some cash. After 30 days the whole thing was uneven and I had to tear it all up. Anyone else had bad luck with the cheaper gravel mixes holding up over time?

Two inches in a month? That is insane, how is that even legal to sell? Cheap gravel really is just a gamble with your time and back.
