Warning: I thought Troll 2 was just internet hype, then I watched it with my cousin in Omaha
I put off watching Troll 2 for like two years because everyone kept saying it was the best worst movie ever, and I figured it was just one of those things people repeat without actually liking it. My cousin finally made me sit down with him in Omaha last weekend, and about 20 minutes in I got it. The acting is so stiff it feels like a school play, and there is a scene where a kid gets possessed by a goblin and starts yelling about his mom that had me on the floor. There are no trolls in the movie at all, they are goblins, and the food they eat is this gross green mush that the actors clearly hated touching. The director is from Italy and barely spoke English, which explains a lot of the weird line reads. I went from rolling my eyes to quoting it all week. So what is the one bad movie you avoided for ages because of the hype, and did it actually live up to it?

My buddy Dave had the same thing happen with The Room. His girlfriend kept telling him it was the worst movie ever made and he refused to watch it for like a year because he thought it was just a joke people were in on. Then he finally caved and now he owns a Tommy Wiseau poster and does the "oh hi Mark" line at every party we go to. The funny part is he says the movie is terrible but he has watched it at least ten times, which says way more than any review could. Some movies just hit different when you stop fighting the hype and let the weirdness wash over you.
