Talked with a retired bank teller at a diner last month and it hit me hard
I was grabbing breakfast at a diner in my town and sat next to a woman who retired from Wells Fargo after 38 years. She told me she remembers when people would come in every Friday to cash their paycheck and actually talk to her, not just stare at a screen. She said now her grandkids Venmo each other for a slice of pizza and she can't wrap her head around it. Made me think about how much trust has shifted from a person behind a counter to an app on your phone. Anyone else feel like banking lost something real along the way?

Read a study that said 60% of people under 30 have never written a check.

Surprised me too when I first heard that, @jesse994. I honestly think everyone should learn how to write one at least once, even if it's just a practice check from a bank. It's not about being old-fashioned, it's about knowing how to handle a situation where a check is the only option. For example, some smaller landlords or contractors still prefer checks because they don't deal with credit cards. I'd suggest picking up a book of checks from your bank or ordering a cheap set online and writing a few out. It's a simple skill but it can save you a headache down the line.
