Clipper blade gave out mid-fade on a Saturday morning rush

Honestly, I used to swear by those cheap clipper blades you get in bulk packs online. But last Saturday, a guy was in my chair for a zero fade and my blade just seized up halfway through the second pass. I had to grab my backup cordless trimmer and finish the whole cut with that, which took twice as long. The client was cool about it, but it made me realize I gotta stop cutting corners on gear. Has anyone else had a blade crap out at the worst possible moment?

Wait, aren't bulk packs usually pretty solid though?

What kind of "solid" are we talking here, @william_henderson? Because the last bulk pack I grabbed was full of clumps and crumbs - I think they just swept the factory floor and called it a "variety pack." Sure, the price per pound looks good on paper, but when you're chewing on what feels like recycled cardboard dust, that savings doesn't feel so sweet.
