Question about how you hold your clippers for skin fades
For years, I held my clippers with a straight, stiff wrist, thinking it gave me more control. Then last month, a barber from Chicago visiting our shop watched me work and said, 'You're fighting your own arm.' He showed me how to keep my wrist loose and let the clipper's weight do more of the work, using my fingers to guide it. I tried it on my next fade and the blend was way smoother, with less strain on my hand after a full day. It felt weird at first, but after a week of forcing myself, my speed actually improved. Anyone else make a small change to their grip that made a big difference?

Yeah, that "fighting your own arm" thing is so real. I switched to a looser grip last year and my lines got way cleaner almost overnight.

Honestly I was death-gripping my pen for years. My hand would cramp up after like twenty minutes. Tbh what helped me was just holding it further back from the tip, almost like I was barely pinching it. My lines stopped looking so shaky and I could actually draw for longer.
