It happened last month when a client pulled out after we'd already started the campaign build. Has anyone else had to add specific cancellation terms after getting burned?

Found a stat about how many people actually keep using audio chat rooms

I was reading a report from the Pew Research Center and it said only 23% of people who tried audio chat rooms on social media kept using them after a month. That's way lower than I thought... it seems like most folks just check it out once and leave. Do you think this means audio rooms are just a fad, or will they find a way to stick around?

Update: My old mentor from my first job in Chicago called me out on my resume last week.

He said 'you're still listing tasks, not telling the story of what you actually built' and it finally clicked after 8 years in tech.

I thought the 'green flash' at sunset was just a story for tourists

For years, I figured photos of that green sliver on the sun were all camera tricks or lens flare. Then, about two months ago, I was on a beach in Florida with a clear horizon and a good zoom lens. I watched the sun dip down, and right as it vanished, I saw a clear, bright green spot for maybe a second. I got a picture that proved it to me. It's a real thing, but you need perfect conditions. I was wrong to be so sure it was fake. Has anyone else managed to catch it on camera, or am I just really lucky?

I used to think a French press was just for lazy mornings, but a cafe in Seattle changed my mind

I mean, I always just poured boiling water over the grounds, waited a few minutes, and pushed it down. But this barista at Victrola Coffee showed me to use water just off the boil, around 200 degrees, and to stir the grounds after pouring. The coffee tasted way cleaner, without that bitter sludge at the bottom. Has anyone else had a simple trick totally change how they use a basic piece of gear?

Talked to a retired guy at the library and he changed how I see my old drafting table

I was sketching at the central library in Springfield last Tuesday and an older man sat down. He pointed at my portable board and said, 'You know, I did my best work on a wobbly kitchen table for 30 years.' That stuck with me because I've been saving for a $2,000 professional table, thinking my gear was the problem. He made me realize I'm focusing on the tool, not the skill. Has anyone else had a moment that made you stop chasing the 'perfect' setup?

This old guy in a Chicago high rise told me something I still think about

I was fixing a door operator on a 1970s Otis last fall, and the building's retired super came by. He watched me work for a minute and said, 'You know, the best mechanics listen to the car before they even open the pit.' He meant the sound of the motor and cables. I've been doing that on every callout since. Has anyone else had a simple tip like that stick with them for years?

Just hit 50 books in a year for the first time, but I feel like I rushed them

One side says the number proves I'm dedicated, but the other side argues I probably missed depth and nuance by reading that fast. Which matters more in a book club, quantity of discussion or quality of reflection?
