TIL that a simple hashtag change got my reel 12k views in 3 days
Last week I posted a travel clip of me walking through Pike Place Market in Seattle. Same clip I always post, nothing special. But this time I swapped out my usual generic tags like #travel for more specific ones like #PikePlace and #SeattleRain. I also added a local fish throwing moment from the market. In 3 days it hit 12k views, way more than my usual 200. My other videos with the same style but different tags stayed flat. Has anyone else seen a big jump just from changing up hashtags or location specific keywords?

I saw something similar from a buddy who runs a food blog, he switched to hyper local tags for city neighborhoods and his engagement shot way up out of nowhere. It's wild how much of a difference ditching the broad stuff makes.

My buddy runs a local coffee shop and he started tagging specific street corners where he posts flyers, his Instagram reach went from like 200 to almost 2,000 in a month. Now he's obsessed with finding the smallest possible tags for everything.
