I finally gave up on threadlocker for stem bolts after a guy named Sal at the shop in Tucson roasted me for it
For 6 years I was the guy who put a dab of blue on every stem bolt, figured it was cheap insurance. Then last month Sal asked me if I torqued to spec, grease or not, and I said threadlocker, and he just looked at me and said 'so you're relying on goop instead of a wrench.' I checked my torque wrench against his the next day and mine was reading 2 Nm high. Now I clean the threads, use grease, and hit spec with a real wrench, and I haven't had a single bolt back out. What's your go to for stem and seatpost bolts, grease or locker?
