TIL I've been greasing bottom bracket threads way too heavy for years...

Was helping a guy overhaul a 90s Trek in Denver last month and he showed me how a thin film is all you need, not that thick paste I've been globbing on since I started. Anyone else find out they were overdoing a basic step after way too long?

Did you hear that some mechanics swear by just using anti-seize on BB threads instead of grease? I read it cuts down on corrosion long term but I'm still not sure if it's worth switching.

Oh man, don't get me started. I once used anti-seize on my own bike and ended up with a bottom bracket so tight I had to bring it to a shop. They laughed at me.
